RE: JROTC

I know you can go into the Army with a higher rank after having been in JROTC for a certain length of time. I'm not sure but I think it's as a PV2, E-2. With Future Soldier Training Program completion you'll gain another rank to PFC, E-3.

I'm pretty sure any JROTC program qualifies as well as Civil Air Patrol.

Any military skills you learn will help you in BCT. That's what the FSTP does & why you can go in with a higher rank.

@ Courtney

BCT is Basic Combat Training. It's called Bootcamp in the Navy, Marines & Coast Guard.

AIT is Advanced Individual Training. That's the school BCT graduates go to learn their job (MOS).

OSUT is One Station Unit Training. It's found basically in the Combat Arms training & is BCT & AIT combined into one course.

FSTP is Future Soldier Training Program. It's on online course designed for those who have enlisted & are waiting to ship to BCT. It used to be called DEP, Delayed Entry Program. By completing FSTP & passing the PT test you can enter the Army one rank higher.
